Rector of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Prof. Handan İnci Elçi has passed away. Appointed as rector of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 2019 by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Elçi was the university’s first female rector.

CoHE President Prof. Erol Özvar expressed his condolences on social media, stating:

“I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Prof. Handan İnci Elçi, Rector of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. May she rest in peace. I extend my condolences to her family, loved ones, and the entire higher education community.”
