President of the Council of Higher Education Erol Özvar announced that YÖK Atlas has been made fully mobile compatible this year to help applicants make informed and well-founded decisions during the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) selection period. "Applicants will be able to access all the essential information they need throughout the selection process on a single platform," Özvar said.

The YKS selection period will begin tomorrow and continue until August 10.

Emphasizing the importance of making university choices based on reliable and official data, Özvar encouraged applicants to make full use of YÖK Atlas, noting that all program information is now easily accessible not only via computers but also through mobile devices.

He explained that YÖK Atlas provides comprehensive information on academic programs, including admission ranking requirements, minimum admission scores, enrollment quotas, occupancy rates, accreditation status, academic staff profiles, and many other data points that applicants need during the selection period. Özvar urged prospective students to rely on official information when making their decisions. "Base your decisions on official data. Using reliable sources of information during the selection period is of great importance. An informed choice is the first step toward a confident future."

Özvar also addressed applicants intending to pursue higher education abroad, emphasizing that they should verify before enrolling whether their chosen higher education institution is officially recognized by the Council of Higher Education.

He reminded students that diplomas awarded by institutions not recognized by the Council cannot be granted equivalency in Türkiye. He further stressed that no university or academic program can be guaranteed equivalency in advance.

Özvar concluded by emphasizing that whether applicants choose to study in Türkiye or abroad, making decisions based on official and verifiable information is of critical importance for both their educational journey and their future career planning.
