President of the Council of Higher Education Özvar: “Our students should focus on nothing other than their exams”

The process, which was of critical importance for students, academics, and families at Istanbul Bilgi University, has concluded in a manner that ensures the uninterrupted continuation of educational activities. By Presidential Decision, it was resolved that the university would continue operating within its current structure, taking into consideration the protection of students’ right to education, the prevention of hardship for academic and administrative staff, the expectations of families, and the overriding public interest.

- No Changes to the Final Examination Schedule

Following the decision, the Board of Trustees returned to duty, and the Rector’s Office resumed its work from where it had left off.

According to information received from the university administration, no changes have been made to the academic calendar. The finals of the spring semester will be held between 8–20 June 2026 in accordance with the previously announced schedule. Scientific and social activities will also continue as planned. The university will continue its operations with its current academic staff, human resources, and institutional structure.

President of the Council of Higher Education Erol Özvar stated: “Our President has demonstrated a strong commitment to ensuring that our students, their families, and university employees do not experience any hardship. Educational activities at Istanbul Bilgi University are secured and will continue uninterrupted. As the Council of Higher Education, we have followed the process with great care and responsibility from the very beginning and will continue to do so. Our priority has always been the future of our students, the protection of the right to education, and the stability of our higher education system. All necessary measures have been taken to ensure that our students, academic staff, and administrative personnel experience no uncertainty. The finals of the spring semester will be held in accordance with the announced academic calendar. Our students and their families should now feel reassured. As the examination period approaches, our students should focus on nothing other than their exams. On this occasion, I sincerely congratulate our students, academic and administrative staff, and our entire nation on the Feast of Sacrifice and wish them many more holidays filled with health and peace.”
