Council of Higher Education Warns Students Wishing to Study Abroad
September 5, 2025
The Council of Higher Education has warned students considering higher education abroad to be cautious about misleading advertisements, slogans, and announcements.
The statement issued by the Council of Higher Education included the following remarks:
“During registration periods, it has been observed that some universities abroad attempt to influence and direct our students who wish to continue their higher education abroad with slogans such as ‘CoHE equivalence’, ‘CoHE recognition’, and ‘CoHE support’.”
Our students, especially those applying for diploma programs with a requirement for academic ranking, should be aware of the ‘equivalence’ (https://www.mevzuat.gov.tr/mevzuat?MevzuatNo=24138&MevzuatTur=7&MevzuatTertip=5) and ‘transfer from higher education institutions abroad’ (https://www.mevzuat.gov.tr/mevzuat?MevzuatNo=13948&MevzuatTur=7&MevzuatTertip=5) requirements when making their evaluations and decisions in order to avoid any disadvantages.
Students wishing to pursue higher education abroad can view the institutions recognized by the Council on the e-Government Gateway and verify the relevant information at the following address: https://www.turkiye.gov.tr/yok-okul-tanima-belgesi-sorgulama.
