Erol Özvar, President of the Council of Higher Education, is visiting Ağrı to attend the Regional Universities Meeting and to hold talks.

Özvar met with IC Holding Chairman İbrahim Çeçen, who has made a great contribution and support to the university in Ağrı, and stated that he finds the support of business people to the universities in their provinces very valuable, and that Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University is one of the lucky universities to receive this support.

After visiting Ağrı Governor Mustafa Koç, Özvar went to Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University, visited the Rector's Office and attended the senate meeting.

In his speech at the senate meeting, Özvar stated that the Council of Higher Education has been planning in the quotas of programs with decreasing demand in universities for three years, and that they organize programs by considering the expectations, demands and orientations of candidates.

He advised university candidates to carefully examine the newly opened programs. He pointed out that many professions are gradually disappearing all over the world, and that professions based only on physical strength are being replaced by other types of professions.

He reminded that the Council of Higher Education had previously allocated quotas to the relatives of martyrs and veterans in associate and undergraduate programs at both state and foundation universities.

Özvar emphasized that universities are the engine of a country's economic development. He stated that he finds the contributions of Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University to both Ağrı and its surroundings extremely important and thanked İbrahim Çeçen, who has made significant contributions to the development of the university, for his support.

Emphasizing that the field of higher education is a field of governance, not management, Özvar noted that close cooperation and communication with universities is very valuable for this reason.
