- The 9th Meeting of Education Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States will be held in Turkistan, Kazakhstan.

President of the Council of Higher Education Erol Özvar will visit Kazakhstan from June 7 to 9 to attend the 9th Meeting of Education Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) and hold a series of official engagements.

The 9th Meeting of Education Ministers, where key issues aimed at enhancing cooperation in higher education within the Organization of Turkic States will be discussed, will take place on June 8 in the city of Turkistan, Kazakhstan. Özvar is scheduled to deliver an opening address at the meeting.

One of the main agenda items will be proposals for the establishment of a Turkic World Higher Education Area, an initiative previously put forward by Türkiye. The meeting will focus on measures to strengthen higher education integration among OTS member states.

The meeting is expected to address the establishment of a Turkic World Higher Education Database, the creation of a Turkic World Higher Education Quality Assurance Agency, the development of diploma recognition and equivalency mechanisms among universities, and the strengthening of the structure of the Union of Turkic Universities (TURKUNIB).

These initiatives, spearheaded by the Council of Higher Education, aim to create a common academic ecosystem across the Turkic world, similar to the European Higher Education Area.

Following the 9th Meeting of Education Ministers, the Scientific Council Meeting of the Turkic Academy will be held. President of the Council of Higher Education Erol Özvar will attend the meeting and deliver a speech. During his visit to Kazakhstan, Özvar is also expected to hold a number of bilateral meetings.
