The university registration process for candidates placed in a higher education program based on the results of the 2026 Higher Education Institutions Examination (2026-YKS) ends today.

Candidates who qualified for registration but were unable to complete their registration procedures within the designated period have been given an opportunity to register late on the grounds of extenuating circumstances.

Candidates may apply to the higher education institutions to which they have been placed between August 31 and September 4, 2026.

Candidates whose extenuating circumstances are deemed valid by the relevant higher education institution will be allowed to complete their registration.

Council of Higher Education President Erol Özvar stated that candidates who missed the registration deadline for various reasons may benefit from the late registration opportunity, saying: “The process has not yet come to an end for our candidates who were unable to complete their registration for any reason. Candidates whose extenuating circumstances are deemed valid will be able to complete their registration by the end of business on September 4. I strongly recommend that our young people make use of this opportunity available to them and complete their applications within the specified dates.”
