January 22, 2026
An important step has been taken under the auspices of the Council of Higher Education to strengthen Türkiye’s human resources in the field of energy and to support regional development.
The Energy Academy, implemented under the coordination of Batman University, which has been designated as a specialized university in energy, is expected to make a strong contribution to the energy vision of Southeastern Anatolia.
Established within the framework of the “TRC3 Region Energy Academy Cooperation Protocol” signed between Batman University, Siirt University, Şırnak University, Mardin Artuklu University, and the Dicle Development Agency (DIKA), the academy aims to strengthen the region’s energy vision, increase energy literacy, and train qualified human resources in the energy field.
Designed entirely online and free of charge, the Energy Academy will address undergraduate and graduate students, professionals working in the energy sector, and a wide audience interested in energy.
The program will offer courses in “renewable energy,” “energy efficiency,” “energy economics and policies,” “energy use in agriculture and industry,” “energy and mining,” and “institutionalization and sustainability.” Courses will be delivered free of charge and open to the public by expert academics, sector representatives, and executives.
Applications can be submitted online via Batman University’s website until January 30, or in person through the relevant universities or the Dicle Development Agency.
The Energy Academy, planned to run for approximately four months between February 2 and May 29, 2026, will consist of six modules.
Each module will include approximately 80 hours of comprehensive training. Participants who meet attendance and success requirements will receive certificates of participation and achievement approved by the partner universities.
Participants who successfully complete the program are expected to gain a significant advantage in employment processes in the energy sector.
Batman University’s Energy Coordination Office will oversee the planning, academic framework, digital infrastructure, and coordination of all activities. With its academic expertise, Batman University will serve as the central and leading institution of the academy.
Contributing to the Spread of Conscious Energy Use
Batman University Rector İdris Demir stated that, in line with the digital transformation efforts led by President Özvar, disseminating knowledge to all segments of society is among the fundamental goals.
Emphasizing their responsibility as a specialized university in energy to increase energy literacy, Demir stated that the Energy Academy, implemented under Batman University’s coordination in cooperation with regional universities and the Dicle Development Agency, will contribute to training qualified human resources and promoting conscious energy use.
The Energy Academy stands out as a model structure aiming to contribute to regional development through strong cooperation among universities, public institutions, and regional stakeholders.
