August 28, 2025
According to the 2025-YKS placement results, all quotas for 27 programs—3 bachelor's degree programs and 24 associate degree programs—which were opened for the first time this year and are focused on future careers and employment, have been used. The newly opened programs attracted significant interest from applicants, with a total of 4,592 students placed in these programs.
As part of the transformation efforts initiated by the Council of Higher Education, the quotas of the 17 computer science and artificial intelligence-based programs launched last year and expanded to nearly 100 universities this year were all used, as they were last year. The occupancy rate of the quotas was 100 percent.
Candidates generally listed these programs among their top choices. The minimum scores and rankings for the relevant programs were observed to be at high levels.

-AI engineering programs admitted students ranked in the top 200-
AI engineering programs launched last year by the Council of Higher Education were the top choice for the highest-scoring candidates. The candidate who ranked 102nd in quantitative scores was admitted to the AI and Data Engineering program at Istanbul Technical University, while candidates ranked 146th, 152nd, 178th, and 203rd were admitted to Medipol University's AI Engineering program (with scholarships).
Özvar: “Our young people made very conscious choices”
Erol Özvar, President of the Council of Higher Education, stated that the innovative approaches and strategic goals they set for the future of the higher education system in line with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's the Century of Türkiye vision received a remarkable response from candidates.
He said that for three years, they have adjusted the quotas of programs in universities that have seen declining demand and weakened links to employment, organizing the programs by considering the expectations, demands, and orientations of the candidates.
Özvar stated, “Interest in the renewed vocational schools is increasing,” reminding that they have launched a new era in vocational schools in line with sectoral needs and have renewed their programs and curricula in cooperation with industry and the labor market. He added that students are quite adept at predicting the future.
