Council of Higher Education Launches New Employment-Focused Programs
New programs focused on informatics, AI, green transformation and digital transformation in health and agriculture will be offered to students this year

The Council of Higher Education offers new associate and undergraduate programs in many fields from AI to green transformation to student. New programs focusing on the professions of the future will be opened at universities this year.
New programs are being implemented to meet Türkiye's human resources needs in the fields of digital transformation, AI, information technologies, digitalization in agriculture and health, and green transformation. Introduced in 2024, more AI-based programs will be opened in 2025.
Erol Özvar, President of the Council of Higher Education, said, "Last year, 17 AI-based programs were launched at 20 universities. We are increasing the number of universities offering programs in this field to over 80." Özvar pointed out that all of the programs based on AI provide education with high enrollment rates and emphasized that these programs will play a critical role in closing Türkiye's digital skills gap.
“We encourage candidates to closely follow the new programs”
Stating that one of the main goals is to train young people of higher education age with the competence and skills required by the modern age, Özvar continued as follows:
"We continue our efforts for future professions and employment-sensitive programs in line with the needs of our country. We are introducing new programs that prioritize digitalization in AI, agriculture and health to our universities. In addition, we will open new associate degree programs that we have developed on the environment and green economy consensus for the first time this year. I encourage candidates to closely follow the new programs."
“Four new programs in health and three new programs in agriculture based on digital technologies”
Özvar stated that they have developed innovative education models to support digital transformation in health and agriculture as well as AI, and said, “This year, we are offering seven new programs based on digital technologies in health and agriculture to students.”
Özvar said that the new undergraduate program based on digital technologies in agriculture, “Precision Agriculture and Agricultural Robots” will be included in the YKS Preference Guide for the first time. In addition, the associate degree programs of "Smart Greenhouse Technologies”, “Digital Agricultural Technologies”, “Agricultural Machinery and Technologies” will be opened for the first time this year.
Based on digital technologies in health, “Digital Health Systems Technician”, “Tele-Health Technician” and “Medical Data Processing Technician” programs will be offered to candidates for the first time this year.
In addition, the “Office Technologies and Data Management” associate degree program related to digital technologies will be opened in many universities.
“Nine new programs on green transformation”
Stating that they continue to open programs and renew the curriculum in the field of green and sustainable technologies, Özvar said that this year they will open nine new programs, one undergraduate and eight associate degree programs in this field.
The “Nature Conservation and Biodiversity Management” program at the undergraduate level will be offered to students for the first time this year. The associate degree programs based on green transformation that will be opened for the first time this year will be as follows: Renewable Energy Technician, Water and Waste Management Technician, Environmental Health and Environmental Risk Management Technician, Smart Infrastructure Technician, Environmental Measurement and Monitoring Systems Technician, Carbon Management Technician, Hydrogen and Energy Storage Technician, Green and Ecological Building Technician.
Özvar emphasized that they will continue to transform the programs with less employment possibilities with new employment-oriented programs in line with the needs of the modern days.
