CoHE’s Science Communication Office Brings Science to Türkiye Innovation Week
- From vineyards to ferries, from mines to Innovation Week: Science meets society
- The meeting point for science at Türkiye Innovation Week: CoHE’s Science Communication Office
- Nearly 1,600 events connecting science with the public
October 15, 2026
Science Café events, organized under the coordination of the Council of Higher Education’s (CoHE) Science Communication Office with contributions from universities’ Science Communication Offices, are also bringing science to participants at Türkiye Innovation Week. Over the course of three days, academics will share their research in clear, accessible language and answer participants’ questions.
To date, approximately 1,600 Science Café events have been held across Türkiye with the participation of more than 150 universities. Organized in vineyards, fields, village coffeehouses, on ferries and at mining sites, these gatherings have brought science into the places where people live and work. By sharing universities’ scientific knowledge with the public, Science Communication Offices help build strong, lasting connections between science and society.
- Science Café Comes to a Meeting Point for Production and Innovation
Holding Science Café events at Türkiye Innovation Week offers an opportunity to bring universities’ scientific expertise directly to the business community, entrepreneurs and young people. The aim is to lay the groundwork for new collaborations through direct engagement between researchers and the world of production, while supporting the transformation of scientific knowledge into production, technology and social benefit.
Activities at the Science Communication Office’s booth give visitors the opportunity not only to learn about scientific research but also to interact directly with researchers, ask questions and share their ideas. In this way, universities’ science communication initiatives are brought together with Türkiye’s innovation agenda.
