The Council of Higher Education (CoHE) has prepared an action plan to carry Turkish universities to Vision 2030.
CoHE sent the action plan recommendations to universities following the “Regional Meetings of Turkish Higher Education Vision Towards 2030” organized in Ankara, Diyarbakır, Niğde, İzmir and twice in İstanbul.
Erol Özvar, President of the Council of Higher Education, stated that the action plan prepared on the basis of the topics Quality-Oriented Process Management and Leadership, Digital Transformation and Data-Based Management, National and International Reputation and Visibility, Entrepreneurial and Innovative University is a strategic roadmap for the Turkish higher education system to rise to the leading position in global competition.
Stating that the recommendations in the action plan are structured by taking into account the current capacities and development priorities of universities, Özvar emphasized that concrete steps have been defined under each topic, and monitoring and evaluation indicators, monitoring method and timetable have been established to perform a follow-up.
Özvar underlined that CoHE aims to increase the competitiveness of the Turkish higher education system on a global scale, establish a quality-oriented development process, integrate digital transformation into the institutional culture and strengthen the international visibility of universities.
“A digital tracking system was created”
Emphasizing that they want universities to effectively implement their action plans, Özvar said, “It is of great importance that our universities act in line with the strategic priorities determined in the vision meetings and effectively implement their action plans as outlined in the determined calendar.”
Noting that a tracking system has been created in a digital environment to ensure the follow-up of the implementation of the action plans, Özvar stated that the performance of universities will be periodically examined through the indicators determined in each action plan.
He also stated that CoHE will soon publish the report containing all the presentations made at the regional meetings on the official website of the Council of Higher Education.
