President of the Council of Higher Education (CoHE) Erol Özvar attended the opening lecture of the Data Analysis School, which was launched under the auspices of the Council of Higher Education and coordinated by Marmara University’s Center for Population and Social Research, with contributions from Boğaziçi University, Istanbul Technical University, and Middle East Technical University.
Emphasizing that the Data Analysis School is the most significant civil online education program ever implemented in Türkiye, Özvar stated that new training modules would be added in response to the extraordinary interest shown in the program. He underlined that in this new era—where data has become a strategic asset and knowledge a growing source of power—Türkiye is moving forward with the goal of becoming a country that leads this transformation.
Özvar noted that the school is not a traditional educational model but a comprehensive project aiming to enhance digital literacy and data awareness at a societal level. He highlighted that the great interest shown in the Data Analysis School clearly demonstrates society’s eagerness to acquire the knowledge and skills required by the digital age.
Stressing the importance of such initiatives in achieving Türkiye’s digital transformation goals, Özvar stated that they support every step that increases young people’s employability, develops their practical skills, and prepares them for emerging technological fields.
He emphasized that students are the key actors of this transformation. Özvar said, “In response to the great interest shown in the Data Analysis School—the most significant online education program ever realized in Türkiye—we will add new ones to these courses. We are also considering certain innovations for the graduates who follow the courses and fulfill the program requirements.”
The Data Analysis School, which will contribute significantly to Türkiye’s scientific productivity, the development of qualified human resources, and the advancement of the research ecosystem, will also accelerate the flow of knowledge among academia, the public sector, and industry, paving the way for the creation of innovative solutions that will strengthen Türkiye’s global competitiveness.
At the Data Analysis School, distinguished academics from Türkiye’s leading universities will provide free online courses in Artificial Intelligence, Basic Statistics, Panel Data Analysis, Psychometrics, Computational Social Sciences, and Digital Humanities.
