Applications for the awards, which will be given in 12 categories under four main titles, namely Individual, Corporate, Special Field and Special, will be open until April 21.

The application period for this year's YÖK Excellence Awards, which have been given by the Council of Higher Education since 2017, has started. Applications will be accepted until 12 pm on Monday, April 21, 2025.

2025 YÖK Excellence Awards will be given in 12 categories under four main titles: Individual, Corporate, Special Field and Special.

Under the title of Individual Awards, the Doctoral Dissertation of the Year Award will be given in four categories: Science and Engineering Sciences, Fine Arts and Architecture, Health and Sports Sciences, and Social and Humanities Sciences. Applications for these awards will be made jointly by the author of the theses and the thesis advisors for doctoral theses completed within the previous year. Through these awards, it is aimed to draw attention to the importance of the joint success of educators and students.

There are five categories under the title of Corporate Awards : Digital Transformation and Big Data Studies, Social Responsibility, International Cooperation, University-Work World Cooperation and Contribution to Local Development. Higher education institutions can apply for these awards. It is aim to encourage and disseminate innovative works and good practices completed in the previous year by higher education institutions.

Special Field Awards will be given in the categories of National Innovation Award and Science Diplomacy Award. The academics who carry out these studies can apply for these awards. The studies to be applied for must have been conducted and completed by the academic staff in the year preceding the year of application. This award aims to encourage the studies carried out by academic staff in the field of national innovation and science diplomacy, which are prioritized for the interests of higher education and the country.

The Special Award, which is also named as Service to Science and Students Award, will be given to scientists who have made significant contributions to education and science with their studies. No application will be taken for this award.
