As part of its internationalization strategy, Turkish higher education is preparing for an important round of academic diplomacy aimed at strengthening relations with Poland.

A Turkish delegation composed of numerous university rectors and led by President of the Council of Higher Education Erol Özvar will visit Poland between 7-9 May to attend the 2nd Poland-Türkiye Rectors Forum and hold a series of official meetings.

During Özvar’s visit, a “Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Higher Education” will be signed between the Council of Higher Education and the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

The memorandum is expected to launch a new phase of cooperation between Türkiye and Poland in many areas, particularly joint degree programs, academic mobility, research projects, and the harmonization of higher education systems.

At the Poland-Türkiye Rectors Forum, to be held on 8 May in the Polish city of Gdańsk, a wide range of strategic topics will be discussed, from artificial intelligence and defense technologies to Erasmus mobility and joint degree programs. The summit, which follows the first forum hosted last year by Gazi University in Ankara, will this year be held at the University of Gdańsk.

The visit is also expected to result in the signing of numerous bilateral agreements between Turkish and Polish universities.
