TR-YÖS to be Held in 78 centers in 52 Countries
The International Student Admission Exam (TR-YÖS), organized in six
languages to attract more qualified international students to Turkish
universities, will be held in 78 centers in 52 countries.
Candidates can apply for the 2024 TR-YÖS/1, which will be held by ÖSYM
on May 18, between March 1-18.

The Council of Higher Education has increased the number of countries,
where the International Student Admission Exam (TR-YÖS) will be held, from
25 to 52 in order to attract more qualified international students to
Turkish universities.
International students wishing to study in Turkish higher education
institutions can take the 2024 TR-YÖS/1 and use the exam results when
applying for admission to these institutions. The exam will be held on May
18 this year. Applications for 2024-TR-YÖS/1 can be made between March 1-18
on ÖSYM's website.
The exam, which will be held in six languages including Turkish, German,
Arabic, French, English and Russian, will be held in the 78 centers in 52
countries.
State universities will no longer administer their own exams for
international student admissions, but can use TR-YÖS results or high school
grade point averages such as IB, Abitur, GCE AL, which are recognized by
the Council of Higher Education. Foundation. The Presidency for Turks
Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) will also use TR-YÖS for its student
admissions.
International students must fulfill one of the following requirements in
order to be eligible to apply for the 2024 TR-YÖS:
Provided that they are in their senior year of high school or have
graduated from high school, they should be one of the following;
- Foreign nationals,
- Foreign nationals who renounced Turkish citizenship / blue card holders
- Dual nationals who become naturalized Turkish citizens after subsequently
acquiring citizenship as a foreign national,
- Turkish citizens who completed their high school education in high
schools abroad (except the high schools in the TRNC) and dual nationals,
one of which is Turkish nationality,
- TRNC nationals who reside in the TRNC, completed their secondary
education (high school) in the TRNC and have GCE AL results, and TRNC
nationals who have or will have GCE AL results after enrolling and studying
in high schools in other countries between 2005-2010.
Exam Locations
In addition to Türkiye, the 2024 TR-YÖS/1 will be held in 78 centers. The
exam locations include TRNC, Germany, USA, Afghanistan, Albania,
Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Algeria, Djibouti,
Chad, Indonesia, Ethiopia, Morocco, France, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, India,
Netherlands, Iraq, Cameroon, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kyrgyz Republic, Democratic
Republic of the Congo, Cote d'Ivoire, North Macedonia, Libya, Malaysia,
Mali, Egypt, Mongolia, Moldova, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Uzbekistan,
Pakistan, Romania, Russia, Senegal, Somalia, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan,
Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Jordan, and Greece/Komotini.
The Council of Higher Education initiated TR-YÖS to facilitate the
applications of international candidates to higher education institutions
in Türkiye. The first TR-YÖS exam was held twice in 2023.
