CoHE’s Decision on Maximum Period of Study
- Students enrolled in all higher education programs at associate and
undergraduate level, who completed the maximum period of study, will be
able to benefit from the right to take exams for the courses they have
never taken or failed by not meeting the attendance requirement.

The Council of Higher Education has taken some decisions to eliminate the
differences in practice in higher education institutions regarding students
who have completed the maximum period of study.
The decisions taken by the CoHE Executive Board were sent to the
universities.
Accordingly, students enrolled in all higher education programs at
associate and undergraduate level (4th, 5th and 6th year) will be able to
benefit from the right to take an exam as stated in Article 44/c of Law No.
2547 for the courses they have never taken or failed to meet the attendance
requirement.
The students, who need to be evaluated by practical exams due to the nature
of the courses, will be required to take practical exams, and theoretical
courses will be assessed by written exams. The same rule will apply for the
courses that students have not taken before.
Those who take practical exams and sit for written exams will continue to
pay the tuition fees per course. Tuition fees will not exceed the amount
determined by the Presidential Decree for the relevant semester.
