CoHE President Özvar Meets Djibouti's Minister of Higher Education and
Research

Djibouti's Minister of Higher Education and Research Nabil Mohamed Ahmed is
paying an official visit to Türkiye between October 22-26, 2023 at the
invitation of CoHE President Erol Özvar.
Minister Nabil Ahmed and the accompanying delegation visited CoHE President
Erol Özvar in his office. During the meeting, the participants made a
comprehensive assessment of the good relations between the Council of
Higher Education and Djibouti's Ministry of Higher Education and Research
within the scope of the current memorandum of understanding on cooperation
in the field of higher education.
They discussed the support provided by Turkish universities to the academic
development of the University of Djibouti and the continuation of this
support, as well as research projects aimed at taking cooperation in higher
education to a higher level. They also had the opportunity to discuss the
situation of Djibouti students in Türkiye.
In addition to Aden Houssein Abdillahi, the Ambassador of Djibouti to
Ankara, the Minister was accompanied by Dr. Djama Mohamed Hassan, Rector of
the University of Djibouti, Dr. Fahmi Ahmed Mohamed, Advisor to the
Minister, Mohamed Ibrahim Cheik, Director of Scholarships, Mahmoud Awad,
Director of Student Affairs, and Houmado Moussa Houmado, Director of
Scholarship Funding at the Ministry of Higher Education and Research of
Djibouti.
The Djibouti delegation will hold meetings at various universities in
Ankara, Çankırı and Istanbul.
