CoHE’s Decisions Regarding Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS)

​Starting from the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) for 2022, the requirement of having the minimum scores for TYT and AYT, which were 150 and 180 points, respectively, for the selection of associate and undergraduate degree programs was abolished.

According to the new decisions, the requirement of getting the minimum score of 150 points in the TYT score type for the calculation of the exam scores in the SAY, SÖZ, EA and DİL score types, and getting the minimum score of 150 points for the TYT score type and the minimum score of 180 points in the SAY, SÖZ, EA and DİL score types for the calculation of placement scores was abolished.

As of this year, the placement score will be calculated by adding the high school grade point average for all candidates whose exam scores are calculated in the relevant score types.

Candidates will have the opportunity to be placed according to score supremacy, with the placement score that will be calculated by adding the high school grade point average to the exam score, as in previous years.

Whose TYT and AYT Exam Scores will be calculated?

Candidates will continue to be required to get 0.5 or more raw scores from the Basic Mathematics or Turkish Language Test for the calculation of the TYT exam score. The SAY, SÖZ, EA and DİL scores will not be calculated for the candidates who do not have a TYT score or whose TYT score is not calculated, even if they take AYT and/or YDT.

Candidates will continue to be required to get 0.5 or more raw scores from at least one of the two tests in AYT regarding the related score type required for the calculation of the test scores in the SAY, SÖZ and EA score types and to get 0.5 or more raw scores from the Foreign Language Test required for the calculation of the exam score in the DİL score type.

Universities will determine the minimum scores in the application to special talent programs

Candidates can apply to higher education programs that admit students with a special talent exam in case their TYT scores are calculated, and the relevant higher education institution will decide whether a minimum score requirement is sought, and if so, the institution will determine the minimum score required to apply to the program. The decision will be announced to the candidates through media outlets.

Candidates will continue to be required to meet the success ranking condition in some programs

Candidates are still required to get into the determined success rankings needed to choose medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, law, architecture, engineering and teaching programs.

200 and more points obtained from 2021-TYT

The scores taken from 2021-TYT (200 scores and more) can be used in 2022-YKS after conversion. On the other hand, the scores taken starting from 2022-TYT (200 scores and more for TYT) cannot be used in the following year.

Exam Duration is Extended

The duration of the Basic Proficiency Test, which was 135 minutes, was extended by 30 minutes, making it 165 minutes.
