CoHE Provides Convenience Regarding Single Physician’s Report During Registration Period

After the Council of Higher Education evaluated the inconveniences regarding the retrieval of medical board reports due to the pandemic that are communicated to the Council by candidates, who are required to take a medical board report for the program they are placed in in order to enroll in higher education institutions for the 2020-2021 academic year, the Council discussed the matter with the Ministry of Health.

These inconveniences were discussed at the CoHE Executive Board meeting held on August 28, 2020. The following decisions were taken for candidates, excluding those who were placed in a higher education program on behalf of the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Interior as a result of the 2020 YKS placements:

    • Candidates who are placed in the programs for which a medical report is required as one of the special conditions for enrollment can enroll in the programs by submitting a medical report issued by a single physician stating that the candidate does not have any illnesses.
    • The deadline for the enrollment of programs requiring documents such as Medical Examination Certificate for Seafarers, Medical Report for Seafarers, Medical Report for First Class Industrial Divers, and Medical Report for Private Security Guards in accordance with the legislation of the relevant institutions and organizations (Directorate General of Health Services for Borders and Coasts of Turkey, Directorate General of Civil Aviation, etc.) will be extended and students will be asked to submit the requested documents to the relevant higher education institutions by end of business on Friday, September 25, 2020.
    • University of Health Sciences is asked to prioritize the procedures to be carried out by the Health Application and Research Centers at the University of Health Sciences of the candidates who are placed in the university on behalf of the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Interior and are subject to the legislation of these Ministries.
