Meeting with Academics in Geography at CoHE

As the “New CoHE,” we continue to discuss the issues on our agenda
regarding our higher education system by inviting the relevant stakeholders
to CoHE.
In this scope, we met with the academics in geography at CoHE to discuss
the current situation of geography, a field that we attach importance to in
the field of social sciences, at Turkish universities.
CoHE President Prof. M. A. Yekta Saraç chaired the meeting. In addition to
the members of the CoHE Executive Board, the related rectors, deans,
department heads, and the President of the Turkish Geographical Society
attended the meeting.
Following the opening speech of CoHE President Saraç, Assoc. Prof. T. Ahmet
Ertek, President of the Turkish Geographical Society, made a presentation.
He made proposals related to geography regarding the draft study on the
reorganization of the program names to end the confusion about program
names.
After the presentation, the relevant rectors, deans and department heads
had the opportunity to ask their questions and express their opinions and
suggestions to CoHE President Saraç.
The participants expressed their satisfaction with the meeting.
