CoHE Delivers Good News for Research Assistants Doing Their Graduate
Studies at Other Universities

The Council of Higher Education discussed the problems of research
assistants working under 50/d contract at state higher education
institutions.
- Their posts will be temporarily assigned to the universities they are
receiving graduate education
The posts of research assistants assigned within the scope of “OYP” and
“Priority Fields” and those assigned under 50/d contract who are doing
their graduate studies in a higher education institution that is not in the
same province as the higher education institution they are working at will
be temporarily assigned to the state higher education institutions they are
receiving graduate education according to Article 35 of Law No. 2547.
- They could get transferred to state universities they are working at
On the condition that research assistants assigned under 50/d contract make
a request and there is a graduate program they could enroll in the higher
education institution they are working at, they could get transferred to
the state university they are working at.
Besides, the research assistants assigned under 50/d contract who are doing
their graduate studies at foundation higher education institutions can be
transferred to the related graduate program of state higher education
institutions in the province where they are doing their graduate studies.
Among the students who were transferred, those who are writing their thesis
cannot change the topic of their thesis. The thesis advisors at foundation
higher education institutions will be designated as second thesis advisors.
