CoHE Offers More Positions for Universities Specializing in Regional
Development

As is known, the “New CoHE” has introduced diversification in the Turkish
higher education system. The process of diversification has been carried
out in two groups: Research/Substitute Research Universities and
Universities Specializing in Regional Development.
The Mission Differentiation and Specialization Aimed at Regional
Development Project is a program that aims for universities that were
established after 2005 to become the actors of regional development with
the activities they will carry out in their provinces/regions.
The universities and the fields they will specialize in are as follows:
• Aksaray University: In the Field of Health and Sports,
• Bingöl University: In the Field of Agriculture and Basin
Based Development,
• Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University: In the Field of
Husbandry,
• Düzce University: In the Field of Health and
Environment,
• Kastamonu University: In the Field of Nature Tourism and
Forestry,
• Kırşehir Ahi Evran University: In the Field of
Agriculture and Geothermic,
• Muş Alpaslan University: In the Field of Agriculture,
• Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University: In the Field of Tea
Production,
• Siirt University: In the Field of Agriculture and
Husbandry,
• Uşak University: In the Field of Textile, Leathermaking
and Ceramics.
The Strategy and Budget Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey
is funding the project to support the activities of these universities in
their regions. The Council of Higher Education is in charge of human
resources.
In this scope, the Presidency approved the request of CoHE for 50 positions
to be used in the specified fields by these ten universities. CoHE
allocated these positions to the universities. These universities will use
these positions only in the determined fields.
