University and chaired the senate meeting. In his speech at the senate
meeting, Özvar stated that they continue to work on transforming programs
with shrinking employment opportunities. Emphasizing that they will
increase the number of informatics-oriented programs in vocational schools,
Özvar advised university candidates who will take the exam this year to
check out the newly opened programs.
He also stated that they have initiated a new project regarding the
programs in vocational schools where practical courses are predominant and
internship is compulsory. Touching on the importance of practical courses
and internships in vocational programs with hands-on training, he also
emphasized the importance of improving the programs where university-sector
cooperation is the most visible.
Stating that one of the most important agendas of the Council of Higher
Education is to ensure that all programs achieve quality assurance, Özvar
said, “This is one of our top priorities. Our students pay attention to
these issues when choosing programs, departments, faculties, vocational
schools and even universities. In the future, we will make much more
important developments in terms of quality and accreditation. Turkish
universities will continue to provide more high-quality services to our
students. The future belongs to all of us.”
