CONSULTATION MEETING HELD OVER LEGISLATION ON ADDITIONAL PAYMENTS/IMPROVEMENT FOR HEALTH PERSONNEL WORKING IN UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS

COHE PRESIDENT ÖZVAR: “THE LEGISLATIVE WORKS INITIATED WITHIN THE COUNCIL OF HIGHER EDUCATION TO MAKE THE NECESSARY IMPROVEMENTS IN THE PERSONAL RIGHTS OF HEALTH STAFF WORKING IN UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS WILL BE COMPLETED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.”

CoHE President Erol Özvar chaired the meeting regarding the legislative works to be done on additional payments/improvement for health personnel working in university hospitals. The rectors of 81 state universities with medical schools attended the meeting.

After the opening speech of CoHE President Özvar, the participants exchanged their views. At the end of the meeting, CoHE President Özvar explained the roadmap as follows:

“The legislative works initiated within the Council of Higher Education will be completed as soon as possible to make the necessary improvements in the personal rights of the health personnel working in university hospitals operating under higher education institutions in a way that will not cause any loss of rights.

The works will be based on a regulation on the improvements in the additional payment rates to be offered to the health personnel from the revolving funds and the Regulation on Additional Payments by the Ministry of Health published in the Official Gazette dated 12.08.2022 and numbered 31921.

We continue to work on the legal arrangement that will provide permanent solutions to the issues of health personnel working in university hospitals operating under higher education institutions.”

CoHE President Özvar emphasized that they were working diligently and decisively to ensure that health personnel working in university hospitals did not have any adverse effects due to the issues related to personal rights and said, “We want to inform the public that the issue will be resolved as soon as possible.”
