CoHE President Erol Özvar Meets Azerbaijani Education Minister Emin Amrullayev

CoHE President Prof. Erol Özvar is making his first official overseas visit to Azerbaijan with the CoHE delegation. During the visits that will take place between 29 November and 5 December 2021, it is aimed to discuss the details of the crucial steps to be taken with Azerbaijan in the field of higher education with the senior officials.

- Meeting with Turkish Ambassador to Baku Cahit Bağcı

On the first day of the Azerbaijan visit, CoHE President Erol Özvar and the accompanying delegation paid a visit to Cahit Bağcı, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Baku, and exchanged views on academic cooperation between the two countries.

- Visit to Turkish and Azerbaijani Martyrs' Memorials

President Özvar paid a visit to the grave of the late President Haydar Aliyev and the Turkish and Azerbaijani martyrs’ memorials. Accompanied by Cahit Bağcı, Turkish Ambassador to Baku, Özvar first paid a visit to Haydar Aliyev's grave and laid a wreath. He also laid wreaths to the Eternal Flame Memorial in Martyrs' Lane, where the martyrs of 20 January are buried, and Turkish Martyrs' Memorial.

- Meeting with Azerbaijani Education Minister Amrullayev

After the visits to the memorials, CoHE President Erol Özvar met with Emin Amrullayev, Minister of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

According to the statement made by the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan, the current situation of cooperation between Turkey and Azerbaijan was reviewed and works on new cooperation were discussed in the meeting.

Minister Amrullayev expressed his pleasure to receive President Özvar in Azerbaijan and said that their meeting was an important step in strengthening the relations in higher education between the two brother countries.

Özvar also thanked Amrullayev for his invitation and warm welcome. He said that he was willing to deepen the relations between the two brother countries with new and important steps to be taken in higher education.
