Prof. Dr. M. İ. Safa Kapıcıoğlu

Prof. Mehmet İsmail Safa Kapıcıoğlu was born in Ankara in 1960. Following his elementary education in Kurtuluş Primary School, he graduated from Bahçelievler Deneme High School in 1977. He went into profession after graduating from the Faculty of Medicine at Ankara University in 1983.

After completing his state service obligation, he became an orthopedics and traumatology specialist in the same faculty in 1990.

He began his academic career at Selçuk University. He became an associate professor in 1995 and a professor in 2001. In addition to his academic studies, he also served in various administrative duties at Selçuk University.
He became the founding dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Selçuklu University. Kapıcıoğlu, who served as the General Director at General Directorate of Health Education of Ministry of Health (2008-2001), as the Head Doctor of Keçiören Training and Research Hospital (2011-2012) and as the Hospital Administrator at Yıldırım Beyazıt University Ankara Atatürk Training and Research Hospital (2012-2014), was appointed as the General Secretary of the 1st Region of Turkey at Ministry of Health, Public Hospitals Administration of Turkey in 2015.

He was assigned as a General Council member in CoHE by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on January 19, 2015. Kapıcıoğlu is married and has two children.
