7.1       Accreditation training program 

Day 1

The purpose of the meeting

Brief information about the meeting (the participants will be reminded of the question-answer session at the end of the day between 16:00-17:00 hours.  They should take notes of the points they would like to ask then).

Definition of accreditation and its importance in the Turkish education system.

Information on the accreditation process

·            Preparing the self-evaluation report

·            Visit team’s analysis of the self evaluation

·            Examining faculty documents during visits

10:15-11:30            Presentation on standards, with group work

11:30-12:00            Presentation on the relation between teaching competencies,

faculty-school partnerships and the standards

 Day 2

 

09:00-10:30            Group work 

·            Discussion on Piri Reis faculty self-evaluation report in groups. Relationships between the report and the standards.

·            All documents needed for the self-evaluation of the example faculty.

·            Discussion on how well the report reflects the self-evaluation of the faculty. 

(Note: A participant from each group will gather feedback, and prepare a summary of it). 

10:30-11:00            Break 

11:00-12:00            Feedback from group work and general evaluation 

·            Presentation of feedback from each group.

·            A general evaluation on the subject by the team chair. 

12:00-13:00            Lunch 

13:00-14:30            Group work 

                        Individual report writing

                        Self-evaluation report writing studies

The participants will prepare a sample self-evaluation report for

                        one or two standard domains which they will choose. 

Discussion of the written report within groups. The participants will exchange what they have written, and evaluate it. 

14:30-15:00            Break 

15:00-16:00            Presentation on the team report following a visit
