5.2 Team member assignments and responsibilities for a visit with        three programs

Below is a sample team composition for a team visiting a faculty with nine programs, of which three (classroom teaching, Masters-without-thesis in mathematics education, and art education) are selected for review.  The following are members of the team:

                    A          Team Chair

                    B          expertise in classroom teaching

      C          expertise in mathematics education

      D          expertise in art

      E           expertise in educational science

F          expertise in partnership and work in schools

For the hypothetical team above, visiting assessors are assigned to the standards as follows:

In this example, assessor B (the classroom teaching assessor) would have the principal responsibility for preparing the report section on classroom teaching, with assessor C (the mathematics education assessor) having secondary responsibility.  Thus, these two team members must make sure that they read all the relevant documents, and have interview and other opportunities to gather the information they need.  They then discuss, and read what each has written.  Assessor B then leads the team discussion of this program and drafts the relevant section of the report.
