Assessment Meeting on Clinical Trials Takes Place at CoHE

Assoc. Prof. Zeliha Koçak, executive member of CoHE, chaired the "Assessment Meeting on Clinical Trials" where all aspects of the problems and solutions related to the clinical trials that have been conducted in Turkey were discussed.


The assessment meeting was held at the Council of Higher Education. In addition to Prof. Çetin Erol, member of the Council of Higher Education, and Prof. Cemal Bulut, advisor of the Council of Higher Education, the rectors of Akdeniz University, Ankara University, Atatürk University, Dokuz Eylül University, Hacettepe University, Istanbul University, Karadeniz Technical University and the University of Health Sciences, academics who are experts in clinical trials and representatives from the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, Ministry of Labor and Social Security, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Development, Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Administration of Turkey, Public Hospitals Administration of Turkey, Public Health Institution of Turkey, TUBITAK, Health Institutes of Turkey, Directorate General for Health Research and Directorate General for Health Services attended the meeting.


Prof. Serhat Ünal from Hacettepe University made a presentation entitled "Clinical Trials in Turkey and in the World". Prof. Elif İnci Sabuncuoğlu from the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Administration made a presentation entitled "Legal Legislations and Plans for Clinical Trials". Prof. Hamdi Akan made a presentation entitled "Challenges and Solutions Related to Clinical Trials in Turkey".


At the end of the meeting, it was decided that a working group on clinical trials would be established to monitor the progress as well as to determine and solve the problems instantly.
