Vocational Schools Working Group Meeting Takes Place at CoHE

- The Vocational Schools Working Group Meeting, which was established as a part of the Vocational Schools Commission of CoHE, was held at CoHE.

 

- The Vocational Schools Workshop will be organized with the participation of all relevant stakeholders at CoHE soon.

 

- Vocational Schools Coordination Board, which was established within the scope of Law No. 2547, will discuss the opinions and proposals of the working group.

 

CoHE Executive Board Member Prof. Dr. Ömer Açıkgöz, who is also the coordinator of the commission, chaired the Vocational Schools Working Group Meeting, which was established as a part of the Vocational Schools Commission of CoHE.

 

In addition to CoHE Deputy President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal and CoHE Executive Board Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zeliha Koçak Tufan, who are in the working group, the other members of the working group members also attended the meeting.

 

Quality improvement of vocational education

 

Two presentations with the titles "Vocational and Technical Secondary Education" and "Vocational and Technical Education in Higher Education" were held in order to present the current situation and problems of vocational and technical education in Turkey. They discussed the steps to be taken in order to improve the quality of vocational higher education.

 

Vocational Schools Coordination Board, which was established within the scope of Law No. 2547, will discuss the opinions and proposals of the working group.

 

Vocational schools workshop to be organized at CoHE

 

As a result of the meeting, they decided to hold a workshop in order to discuss the reasons for the decline in the number of students placed in associate degree programs in 2017, compatibility issues between the curricula of vocational secondary education and higher education, problems due to the incompatibility of titles in secondary education and higher education, new trends in vocational education, other issues in vocational higher education, incentives to be offered to vocational schools that will be established in organized industrial zones.
