Prof. Dr. M. A. Yekta SARAÇ

Prof. Dr. M. A. Yekta Saraç was born in Istanbul on March 21, 1963. He received his B.A. from the department of Turkish Language and Literature, Faculty of Literature at Istanbul University (IU) in 1985. He became a research assistant in the department of Turkish Language and Literature, IU Faculty of Literature on December 3. 1985.

 After completing his doctoral education at the same university in 1991, he received the titles of assistant professor on June 25, 1992 and associate professor on October 4, 1994, respectively. He became a professor in 2000. He worked at Eastern Mediterranean University (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus) in the academic year of 2005-2006.

 He was assigned as a General Council member in CoHE on October 19, 2005. Afterwards, he was appointed to the same position for the second time on October 19, 2010. Prof. M. A. Yekta Saraç, working as an Executive Board member since March 13, 2008 and CoHE Deputy Chairman since January 21, 2010, was assigned as the Chairman of the Council of Higher Education on November 11, 2014.

 Prof. M.A. Yekta Saraç, having 8 published books and articles published in a number of journals, has specialization in old Turkish Literature, text review, and rhetoric.
