German Language Equivalency Table

Explanations:
1. The equivalency stated in the Table below indicates the numerical correspondence in ÜDS/KPDS exams of the levels which are determined by the internationally recognized German language exams held in Germany and German speaking countries. All the German language exams stated in Table measure the ability to communicate in German across all six language skills: listening comprehension, reading comprehension, writing, speaking, participation in conversation and grammar. Of the six language skills of the German language exams, only two – reading comprehension and grammar – can be equivalent to the skills measured by ÜDS/KPDS exams.
2. All the other exams, except for those specified in the Table below, held by the Goethe Institute, universities and language centers are not assessed according to the equivalency Table.
